MCG was presented by Dr.Amano at the ECG study group in Saitama

2019.05.29

There was a lecture and presentation on MCG at the 15th Kita-Saitama ECG Study group held on May 27 in Fukaya, Saitama.
At the lecture, Dr. Tetsuya Amano(MD, PhD) , a professor of Aichi Medical University, gave a lecture on non-invasive examination and MCG for cardiovascular disease.
In the lecture, he explained it is important to evaluate the functional significant stenosis of the entire heart using SYNTAX score and FFR, etc when identifying cardiovascular disease.
Also he talked about expectations for MCG as a non-invasive alternative to invasive tests such as CTA and CAG, which are not recommended to the patients without symptoms.

In addition, Dr. Noboru Kujirai of Kagohara Hospital introduced cases of MCG. He explained a case about the patient with significantly higher MCG scores after PCI, and a case where restenosis was found in-stent with moderate MCG scores.

This lecture was very valuable for all audience to deepen their understanding about MCG.

MCG study is presented in ACC(American College of Cardiology) Asia

2018.12.17

A  MCG study was accepted and presented at the Conference of ACC (American College of Cardiology ) Asia in December 2018.

The study was conducted in Myanmar. 30 patients (MCG score ≥ 4 ) were enrolled and compared the MCG results with the CAG results (75%-100% stenosis were positive).

The Average MCG score of CAG positive group was 7.0 and negative group was 5.4 (p<0.01). MCG cut off was 6, and it shows sensitivity:76.5%, specificity:69.2%, PPV76.5%, NPV69.2%, accuracy:73.3%(P<0.05).

The study concluded MCG showed high sensitivity and specificity, and MCG is effective as a noninvasive device for detection of severe IHD in Myanmar where catheterization facilities and doctors are very limited.

MCG clinical case is reported in Malaysia

2018.03.05

The MCG case report is published in the the issue of February of “MIMIS DOCTOR”, the famous trusted information source of health care in Malaysia and Asia.

The author, Dr.Ebrahim reported  a case that MCG score is low even the stenosis is  recognized by CTA. However in this patient, he also recognized collateral circulation supplying enough blood to the heart cell instead of the main vessel, which may affect the MCG score is low.

He concluded “Coronary artery computed tomography angiogram is currently used to assess coronary artery disease. Multifunction cardiogram is a new diagnostic tool in
cardiac care to detect microvascular and cellular function of the heart muscles.”

Presentation at ESC Acute Cardiovascular Care 2018

2018.03.05

MCG clinical study was presented at ESC Acute Cardiovascular Care 2018 in March 3rd, in Milan, Italy.

This study was conducted in Myanmar, where the locations of the cath-lab are very limited.  MCG was compared with CAG, and it showed high sensitivity and specificity for the presence of severe CAD by CAG (≥ 75%).

By Author, it is evaluated as “MCG could be used for prompt detection of severe CAD in order to start appropriate (PCI/Optimal Medical Therapy) treatments in the emerging country such as Myanmar where less medical facilities and skills are available.”
